The International Institute for Journalism commenced the 2008 summer academy today, June 29th, 2008. It has 23 participants from 18 countries. Every participant had one expectation or the other for attending the programme.

The official welcome and introduction to the programme was a good medium for the participants to express their expectations.

‘I am very happy to be here to learn from other people from other part of the world’, Becky from Ghana revealed.

I am very optimistic that Becky’s view expressed that of almost all the participant and they have express so through mutual understanding of each other and good interactions.

The guided Hamburg city tour by bus was also fun and every participant enjoyed it.

‘I really enjoyed this tour’, a participant from Nigeria had said.

Generally, it is the believe that the programme will offer participants the opportunity to express an expatiate certain motions which other nation share about their countries.

‘Afghanistan is not what it is portrayed to be’, a participant from Afghan had said.

For me and also for many other participants, I think IIJ deserves to have a good Chee

    Celestine,

This is fabulous, I agree with Becky from Ghana that I will also be one of the lucky ones who will not leave the way they came to the Academy. I am having a lot of experiences from different people of different nationalities. I am most specifically fascinated by the situation in Afghanstan and experiences from Zimbabwe.
